One of the coolest things about this job is that you never know where a shoot will take you and who each session is going to bring into your professional life.

Neisha and I chatted a bit about the photography for her Wedding Reception months ago, but circumstances where such that she knew other photographers and ultimately decided to hire someone else.  I was a bit bummed, but that’s the business and I totally understood and appreciated her decision.

Imagine my surprise when, the night before it was to take place, I got a call asking if I would like to shoot their Wedding Reception.  Events had conspired against them and for whatever reason, they were now without a photographer at the reception.  Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity.

As you can see, the venue they had chosen was gorgeous.  The Turner House is a beautiful old house in Oak Cliff that has been restored and is now used for all types of events.

As a photographer, I fell in love with the place the moment I laid eyes upon it.  I could have spent the entire evening just taking pictures of the house.  Some locations just benefit from truly authentic charm and character.

Working with Neisha and Marc was a dream as well.  Just look at the love they share for each other.  All I had to do was stand in the right place and push the right button.

Their family and friends were a treat to photograph as well.  It was all I could do to keep up with the fun and excitement that was bouncing off the walls in that place.

They danced and danced and then danced a little bit more.  I’m pretty sure they were still dancing long after I had gone home.

Thank you, Marc and Neisha, for allowing me to participate in your Reception and for trusting me to capture and preserve some of your first, special memories together.
